Q7) What tools do you recommend to support the retrace process?

Often times the healing process brought on by taking a homeopathic remedy is subtle and gentle enough that no additional tools are needed. For example, the individual may have a few disruptive dreams, and maybe a few minor physical discomforts that quickly resolve - but nothing that makes them consciously aware that something is happening or makes them feel that they need to support their process in any way.

Other times the retrace symptoms are more intense, but the individual is able to move through them without getting stuck. For example, the individual may move into sadness, recall a past heartache, cry, feel great remorse about what transpired in the past, come to some new awareness, and then feel a sense of resolution and peace - all within a days time.

In each of these cases, additional tools are not usually needed. So, this question really applies to those individuals who have a more intense retrace experience, and who need support in "confronting their demons" so to speak - so that they don't get stuck in the past and can continue to move forward.

This usually applies to anyone who has had past experiences of severe or repeated emotional abuse, violence, and/or sexual molestation. It might also apply to individuals who come from a family that has severe trauma imprinted on their genetics (e.g. children and grandchildren of holocaust survivors).

In these cases, I will ask through muscle testing whether additional tools are needed to support the individual in their healing process. If I get a "yes" answer, I do further muscle testing to discern what other tools would be optimal for the individual. These might include, but are not limited to the following:

NET (Neuro Emotional Technique) - This is a gentle chiropractic technique that uses applied kinesiology to identify a negative emotional pattern in the nervous system. Often times the practitioner is able to identify the age of the imprint, the surrounding circumstances, the negative core belief that the individual assumed at the time of the incident, and the organs that are implicated. Once these elements are identified, the practitioner applies subtle pressure to the spine at specific trigger points as the individual does a particular breathing pattern.

NET is often an extremely quick and effective tool for helping people "lift" negative imprints so they can continue moving forward. Both of the chiropractors I work with offer this technique.

NAET (Nambrudipad Allergy Elimination Technique)- This is a technique that uses a combination of acupressure and homeopathy to clear the body of allergic responses to foods, environmental substances, neurotransmitters, hormones, etc - virtually anything that triggers an immune response in your system. It's often effective at helping people make the physiological shifts necessary to continue their restructuring process. Both of the chiropractors I share office space with offer this technique.

HBLU (Healing Body Level Up) - This is a technique that uses muscle testing and a question and answer protocol to zero in on negative imprints and traumas that may be impacting the subconscious mind and contributing to health issues. Once imprints are identified, the practitioner uses muscle testing to select the appropriate interventions (e.g. usually energy psychology techniques such as the Tapas method, Callahan technique, etc - these are self-repatterning techniques that involve eye movement, tapping of specific acupressure points, and focusing on specific core beliefs, feelings, or memories.) Similar to NET, this is also a quick and effective tool for helping individuals release phobias or traumatic imprints. I offer this technique myself if it's indicated through muscle testing.

Flower Essences - These are mother tinctures made from flowers. They're very subtle but very powerful tools for supporting emotional and psycho-spiritual healing. Each flower matches a particular profile (e.g. hidden fears, guilt, fear of abandonment, fear of going against the group, stress during major life transitions, shame about one's sexuality, hopelessness, withdrawal, shock, leadership issues, etc.) I work with the FES (Flower Essence Society) and Bach brand of flowers, which includes 136 flower essences, each with its own characteristic mental/emotional profile.

When indicated through muscle testing, flower essences can be very effective in helping individuals move through an emotional crises, and/or resolve a current mental/emotional blockage. They are usually very soothing and often bring more gracefulness to the healing process. As such, they're usually an excellent compliment to homeopathy.

Body Work - This is a large category which includes any modality in which the practitioner uses a hands-on technique to address blockages in the physical body, the subtle energy body, and/or the emotional body (my definition). (e.g. massage, Rolfing, Reiki, Bowen, Myofascial Release, Polarity therapy, Cranial Sacral therapy, Somatic Emotional Release, Trager Method, and many others). Some people are very receptive to these types of modalities and benefit greatly from them. Others are less comfortable with them. Again, I use muscle testing to discern what type of referral is needed.

If a particular type of body work is indicated, I have a list of professionals in my area that I can refer people to. This includes an massage therapist in the office suite that I work in, as well as a Cranial Sacral/SER therapist.

Psychotherapists/Energy Psychologists/Mental Health Professionals - I have a list of professionals in my immediate area that I sometimes refer people to, depending on what the muscle testing indicates.

Psycho-Spiritual Support Systems - As indicated by muscle testing, this might include any one of a variety of 12 Step programs or recovery groups. For people with a particular religious preference, it might also include, for example, a Bible study group, or a meditation group.

Exercise, yoga, chi-gong, tai chi - Sometimes just moving the physical body, circulating the blood and freeing up the "chi" is all that's needed to help someone move through a retrace experience. Specific forms of exercises, such as walking, yoga, chi-gong, etc. are sometimes indicated.

Diet changes - The standard recommendation from many practitioners is "drink lots of water". Sometimes the body wisdom indicates other changes to smooth the retrace experience (e.g. eat more, eat less, maximize protein intake, etc).

Nutritional Supplements/Herbs - Sometimes muscle testing indicates that people need a higher concentration of a particular nutrient (e.g. an enzyme, anti-oxidant, vitamin, mineral, probiotic, combination nutritional, etc), or an herb to move them through their retrace experience. In these cases, I use muscle testing to hone in on the particular product they need and how long they'll need it.
